GB 8982-1998 Medical Oxygen

GB 8982-1998 medical oxygen is the standard for safety requirements, test methods, and labels for medical oxygen used in medical institutions. Medical oxygen refers to an oxygen product of a certain chemical composition, physical and chemical properties and poison level meeting the requirements.

This standard applies to medical oxygen used by medical institutions and its oxygen concentration range is 0.03MPa to 0.09MPa (gauge), and this standard does not apply to the oxygen used for self-rescue at high altitude.

This standard stipulates the classification and corresponding technical requirements for medical oxygen, as well as safety requirements, test methods, and requirement for identification labels.

Medical oxygen should have the following characteristics:

1. The oxygen obtained from air should have a purity of 99.5% min, the remaining gases should not affect the safety and efficacy of the use of medical oxygen;

2. It is necessary to ensure that the oxygen is not unfreely mixed with other harmful gases.

Medical oxygen should also comply with relevant national standards and environmental protection regulations.

In terms of safety requirements, the medical oxygen should be safely installed, used, and maintained in medical institutions. When it is compressed, transported and stored, due attention should be paid to prevention of explosion, fire and electric shock.

In terms of inspection methods, the temperature and physical parameters of medical oxygen should be tested according to the applicable international standard or the relevant national standard.

In terms of indicators, medical oxygen should clearly indicate the name of the product, name of the manufacturer, product specifications and technical requirements, instructions for use, storage and transportation, safety instructions, and so on.

The execution of this standard helps to ensure that medical oxygen is safe for use in medical institutions and improves product quality.
