Burn Prevention and Analysis of Burn Catch Grinding
Burning phenomenon refers to the phenomenon of metal burning due to excessive temperature. The temperature is too high, and the metal reaches a certain plastic or liquid state, which looks like metal boiling, accompanied by steam and jittering sparks. It is a common phenomenon in mechanical processing. This kind of phenomenon will seriously damage the product quality, shorten the tool life and cause economic losses. So it is very important to master and control the burning phenomenon in order to improve production efficiency and product quality. The purpose of this article is to analyze the causes of burning phenomenon in burn circle grinding and put forward specific prevention measures.
When the temperature of the workpiece surface rises beyond the plastic temperature up to the melting temperature, burning phenomenon occurs. The reason of burn circle grinding is as follows:
1. Too large grinding force and machine vibration: due to too large grinding force, the contact area is too large, the shear rate is too high, the temperature is too high and the burning phenomenon occurs.
2. The cutting speed is too high: when the cutting speed is too high, the heat accumulation speed is too fast, but the heat dissipation speed can not follow up, and the workpiece surface temperature rises rapidly to produce burning phenomenon.
3. Lubrication is poor: when the lubricating cooling is poor, the heat dissipation is slow, the surface temperature of the workpiece rises rapidly and then burns.
4. High hardness of workpiece: high hardness materials have high heat resistance, long machining time and self heat accumulation, which makes the workpiece surface heat up to the melting point and causes burning.
5. The workpiece is not clamped tightly: if the workpiece is not clamped tightly, the center of grinding force is not correct, the machining resistance is increased, the grinding temperature is too high and the burning phenomenon occurs.
6. Inappropriate abrasive: when grinding with inappropriate abrasive and too large particle size, the grinding force is too large, the temperature rises quickly and the burning phenomenon occurs.
Through understanding the causes of burning phenomenon in burn circle grinding, we should adopt corresponding prevention measures according to different causes.
1. Appropriate grinding force and machine stabilization: The grinding force should be adapted to the grinding conditions, which can not only reduce the temperature rise, but also improve the surface roughness and grinding efficiency. The stability of the machine should be ensured and the vibration should be reduced as much as possible.
2. Appropriate cutting speed: cutting speed should be chosen according to the machining conditions, generally lower speed should be adopted, which can reduce the heat accumulation speed and avoid the burning phenomenon.
3. Improve lubrication cooling: The cooling of lubrication should be improved as much as possible. The lubricating cooling medium with good cooling effect should be selected, so as to reduce the heat accumulation speed and avoid the burning phenomenon.
4. Adopt less hard abrasive: When machining high hard metal, soft abrasive with smaller particle size should be selected to reduce the grinding force and avoid the burning phenomenon.
5. Increase the clamping force of the workpiece: The clamping force of the workpiece should be increased as much as possible so as to make the center of grinding force correct and reduce the machining resistance.
6. Appropriate abrasive material: According to the structure and hardness of the workpiece, the suitable abrasive should be selected to avoid the too large grinding force and the burning phenomenon.
Through the above analysis and summary of the causes of burning phenomenon in burn circle grinding, some effective preventative measures can be found to reduce the occurrence of burning phenomenon and improve the quality and efficiency of burn circle grinding.
