Process performance of 1Cr13 Martensitic stainless steel

1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel, a kind of chromium magnetic stainless steel, is widely applied in the production of industrial components due to its excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance, heat resistance, strength and impact fatigue resistance. This paper introduces the process performance of 1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel.

1. Mechanical properties

The mechanical properties of 1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel are obtained by heat treatment and cold working. In the annealed state, 1Cr13 has a tensile strength of 430MPa and a yield strength of 210MPa. After 400℃, the hardness of 1Cr13 can reach HRC50, and after 800°C, it can reach HRC60. Due to its large amount of Si and Cr elements and low C content, 1Cr13 has favorable toughness after quenching. After solid solution tempering with 800~1000℃ and 0.5 h annealing, 1Cr13 can get more appropriate mechanical properties, namely a tensile strength of 470~490MPa and the corresponding yield strength of 350MPa.

2. Corrosion resistance

Due to the high content of chromium, 1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, good chlorine ion corrosion resistance, high temperature oxidization and wear resistance, etc. The corrosion resistance of this kind of stainless steel can reach high level in various kinds of alkaline media, but it is poor in the mixed acid media containing halide or sulfuric acid.

3. Heat treatment

When the 1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel needs to be strengthened, water quenching and tempering are usually used. The HRC values after the quenching and tempering in the temperature of 300-500℃ are usually 48-53. The 1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel can also be improved by heating and cooling repeatedly.

4. Welding

The welding of 1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel is not easy, it is recommended to use argon-arc welding to weld this steel. It is suggested to use carbon dioxide welding in the suitable environment, and the welding current should be adjusted properly in order to achieve good welding effect.

In conclusion, 1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel has excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, which makes it widely applicable in production. Therefore, the independent research and development and application of 1Cr13 martensitic stainless steel is not only of great significance, but also of great market potential.

1Cr13 stainless steel is a magnetic martensitic stainless steel commonly used in valves, shafts, refrigeration parts and other components. It has good corrosion resistance, weldability and toughness.

1Cr13 stainless steel contains carbon (C) content up to 0.15. This provides good corrosion resistance and improved mechanical toughness. It also contains chromium (Cr) content up to 12-13%, with the balance being iron (Fe). This allows it to be used in the manufacture of components exposed to inorganic acids, such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and phosphoric acid.

1Cr13 stainless steel is mainly used for making shafts, pins, gears, valve bodies, valve seats, blades and impellers, and also for manufacturing springs, keys and nuts. It has good machinability and forming characteristics. It is usually treated using low temperature heat treatment. The resulting microstructure is typically a solution of austenite and ferrite.

Due to its good mechanical properties, 1Cr13 stainless steel is often used for parts requiring high strength, creep resistance and thermal stability. It is used for applications such as pumps, valves, and fasteners. Because of its corrosion resistance and ability to withstand high temperatures, it is also used in vehicle and aircraft parts.

In conclusion, 1Cr13 stainless steel is characterized by corrosion resistance, toughness, good heat resistance and excellent mechanical strength, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
