EN 10149/1-1995 - Delivery Conditions for Hot Rolled Flat Products made of High Yield Strength Steels for Cold Forming
1. Scope
This European Standard specifies the delivery conditions for hot rolled flat products made of weldable, high yield strength steels for cold forming in the grades and qualities given in Tables 2, 3, 4 and 5 (chemical composition) and Tables 6 and 7 (mechanical properties).
2. Normative References
The following standard contains provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. At the time of publication, the referenced version of the publications indicated was valid.
EN 10020: 1995 ‘Definition and Classification of Steel Grades’
3. Designations of Grades and Qualities
The designations of the grades and qualities covered by this standard are as given in Tables 2-7. The designations consist of the following elements in the order given:
a) Steel name;
b) Steel number indicating the chemical composition;
c) Grade;
d) Quality symbol.
4. Chemical Composition
The specified chemical composition of the grades and qualities are given in Tables 2, 3, 4, and 5 (chemical composition). Of the elements listed in these tables, the maximum levels of the elements not specified (with the exception of titanium) shall not exceed the levels of other elements given in the same tables.
5. Mechanical Properties
The specified mechanical properties of the grades and qualities are given in Tables 6 and 7 (mechanical properties).
6. Delivery Condition
The steel shall be delivered in the delivery condition semi-killed or killed.
7. Heat Treatment
7.1 The steel grades shall be supplied in the normalised condition, unless otherwise agreed at the time of enquiry and order.
7.2 If agreed between the manufacturer and the purchaser, the delivery may involve additional heat treatment, such as stress relieving.
8. Tests
Unless otherwise agreed at the time of enquiry and order, the mechanical properties shall be determined by tensile tests, bend tests and impact tests.
9. Marking
The certification shall be furnished with the product in accordance with the relevant national standard. The marking shall be as required in EN 10020.
This European Standard was approved by CEN on 28th April 1995.
CEN members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for giving this European Standard the status of a national standard without any alteration.
