Yangzi Petrochemical - BASF Limited is a joint venture which was established in China in 1995 between BASF, one of the largest chemical companies in the world, and the Chinese-based company Yangzi Petrochemical. The joint venture is focused on the production, sale and distribution of petrochemical products. BASF has been a leader in the petrochemical industry since its establishment in 1865 and has earned a reputation for superior quality products, strong customer service and innovation. BASF and Yangzi have joined forces to provide a reliable and competitive alternative to local suppliers and to offer their customers the most advanced, safe and efficient petrochemical products available in the market.
The joint ventures product portfolio includes a variety of hydrocarbon-based products such as ethylene, styrene, propylene, benzene, toluene and xylene. The joint venture is also producing a variety of specialty chemicals such as ABS resins and linear alpha olefins. Yangzi Petrochemical - BASF also provides engineering and research and development services. The joint venture currently operates three production sites – two in Yangtzejiang and one in Liuzhou. The Yangtzejiang sites are responsible for the production and supply of ethylene, styrene and propylene, and the Liuzhou site is responsible for the production and sale of specialized chemicals and consumer products. The total production capacity of the joint venture is more than 1.5 million metric tons of petrochemicals products and is expected to increase in the future.
In addition to its production facilities, Yangzi Petrochemical - BASF also manages a large network of sales offices and warehouses located in major domestic and international cities.
