JIS G3114 Hot-rolled Corrosion-Resistant Steel for Welded Structures
JIS G3114 hot-rolled corrosion-resistant steel for welded structures (HCR) is a type of hot-rolled steel designed to resist corrosion and weathering. HCR is often used in applications where environment and weathering degradation of the steel structure must be taken into account. JIS G3114 provides five steel grades for HCR: SMA400AW, SMA400BW, SMA400CW, SMA490AW and SMA490BW.
SMA400AW
SMA400AW is an atmospheric corrosion resistant steel for welded structures. It has a superior atmospheric corrosion resistance to SMA490AW, and it may be used in welded structures with superior atmospheric corrosion resistance. SMA400AW is made up of a series of steel components including iron, manganese, silicon, sulfur, phosphorus, and chromium. The percentages of each component vary with the grade and type of steel.
SMA400BW
SMA400BW is also an atmospheric corrosion resistant steel for welded structures. It has a higher atmospheric oxidation resistance than SMA400AW and can be used in applications requiring superior atmospheric corrosion resistance. SMA400BW is made up of a variety of alloy elements including iron, manganese, silicon, copper, phosphorus and chromium. The percentages of each component vary with the grade and type of steel.
SMA400CW
SMA400CW is an improved atmospheric corrosion resistant steel for welded structures. It has an improved atmospheric corrosion resistance than SMA400BW and can be used for applications in severe atmospheric corrosion environments. SMA400CW is composed of a series of alloy elements including iron, manganese, silicon, copper, phosphorus, chromium and nickel. The percentages of each component vary with the grade and type of steel.
SMA490AW
SMA490AW is an improved atmospheric corrosion resistant steel for welded structures. It has an improved atmospheric corrosion resistance than SMA400CW and can be used for applications in extreme atmospheric corrosion environments. SMA490AW is composed of a series of alloy elements including iron, manganese, silicon, copper, phosphorus, chromium and nickel. The percentages of each component vary with the grade and type of steel.
SMA490BW
SMA490BW is an ultra-high strength atmospheric corrosion resistant steel for welded structures. It has an improved atmospheric corrosion resistance than SMA490AW and can be used for applications in extreme atmospheric corrosion environments. SMA490BW is composed of a series of alloy elements including iron, manganese, silicon, copper, phosphorus, chromium and nickel. The percentages of each component vary with the grade and type of steel.
JIS G3114 HCR steels are a valuable material option for applications requiring reliable performance in corrosive environments. They combine superior mechanical properties with atmospheric corrosion resistant characteristics to provide superior performance when exposed to harsh environments. Their superior atmospheric corrosion resistance makes them ideal for applications in exposed conditions.
