Cr4W2MoV Alloy Tool Steel

Tool steels are by far the most widely used and versatile materials for metalworking and fabrication. The alloying elements in tool steel provide strength, hardness, wear resistance, and other valuable properties, making it vital to a wide range of industries and applications. One of the most important and widely-used types of tool steel is Cr4W2MoV tool steel, an alloy steel composed of chromium, tungsten, molybdenum and vanadium.

In metalworking, Cr4W2MoV tool steels have been used for a wide range of processes, including casting, forging, and machining. Cr4W2MoV tool steel is a high carbon, high chromium steel designed for extreme strength and maximum wear resistance. This alloy provides a variety of applications, with excellent machining and welding properties, and high heat resistance.

Cr4W2MoV is a versatile tool steel, suitable for a variety of applications. This steel is especially well-suited for applications requiring high strength, extreme wear resistance, and high heat resistance. This steel is also well-suited for applications involving high abrasion, and where high wear resistance is essential. In addition, Cr4W2MoV also has excellent wear resistance and is relatively easy to machine.

The primary benefit of Cr4W2MoV tool steel is its wear resistance, which is particularly useful in applications involving high abrasion. This steel’s high chromium content provides superior hardness and wear resistance, which makes it ideal for difficult applications requiring extremely high wear resistance. The high hardness of the steel provides superior abrasion resistance, and the high strength of the steel makes it suitable for wear-resistant applications.

The other primary benefit of Cr4W2MoV is its high heat resistance, which is especially beneficial in applications involving heat-treating processes. This steel has a high carbon content, which makes it suitable for numerous heat-treating processes, and it is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1050 degrees Celsius. This allows for high-end applications, such as high-speed machining, which requires extreme heat tolerance.

In addition to its strength, hardness, wear resistance and heat resistance, Cr4W2MoV is also notable for its corrosion resistance. The chromium content of this steel provides excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for applications requiring high corrosion resistance, such as tools and dies used in marine environments or in chemical and petrochemical industries.

Cr4W2MoV is an extremely useful and versatile tool steel, capable of a wide range of applications. Its wear resistance, strength, hardness, and heat resistance make it particularly well-suited for applications requiring extreme wear, strength, hardness, and heat resistance, making it ideal for a wide variety of industries and applications. Its corrosion resistance also makes it suitable for applications requiring high corrosion resistance.

Cr4W2MoV alloy tool steel is a kind of high speed tool steel. It is also known as tungsten high-speed tool steel, W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel and low alloy high speed tool steel. It has good strength, wear resistance and toughness. After quenching and tempering, its hardness can reach 63-68HRC.

Cr4W2MoV alloy tool steel is widely used for various tools, such as cutting tools, forming tools and measuring tools, because of its excellent comprehensive mechanical properties. It can be used to make various tools with different cutting ability, such as turning tools, planer tools, milling cutters, reamers, chisels, etc., and is widely used in the manufacture of cold rolled or hot rolled steel or nonferrous metal gears, etc.

Cr4W2MoV alloy tool steel adopts vacuum arc smelting + electroslag remelting or secondary refining combined with forging + heat treatment and special process, in order to obtain the best performance in cutting tools, the good products should be strictly controlled in its chemical composition, the maximum C content should be 0.90-1.10 and the max Si content should be around 0.6%.

Cr4W2MoV alloy tool steel is heat treated through quenching and tempering, quenching temperature should be higher than 900℃ and tempering temperature should be higher than 660℃. In order to obtain the best performance and reduce the chance of micro-crack occurrence, the hardness and toughness should be strictly controlled when it is processed. High-temperature tempering temperature and ultra-low temperature quenching technology can effectively improve the performance of the tool.

The softening temperature of Cr4W2MoV alloy tool steel is around 650℃. Generally, it is used in the working environment of 200-450℃ and is suitable for making high-precision, long-life and high-hardness cutting tools. Therefore, it is generally used in the manufacture of small precision cutting tools, top and corner tools, reamers and threading tools where the cutting ability is high and its wear resistance should be the best.
