A List of JUG Modules

Java Unified Graph (JUG) is a framework for creating and maintaining rich graph-based data structures. It is designed to extend the capabilities of the Java platform by providing an architecture for representing and managing graph-based objects. JUG is an open source project, with source code and documentation available from the JUG project page.

JUG modules are small components that can be connected together to create a JUG graph. Each module consists of input and output sockets, which can be used to define the connections between modules, and thus build the graph structure. They also contain fields that allow you to store and manipulate data, making them the building blocks of the graph. The collection of modules that make up the graph and the way they are connected is referred to as the JUG graph structure.

There are many categories of JUG modules, each of which can be used to perform different tasks. The main categories are:

1. Input Modules - These modules are the starting point for any JUG graph, and provide the means for the user to input data into the graph. Examples of input modules include the File Reader which inputs data from a file, the Form Parser which parses data from HTML forms, and the Socket Data Source which allows data to be read from a socket.

2. Output Modules - These modules are the end point of any JUG graph, and provide the means for the user to output data from the graph. Examples of output modules include the File Writer which outputs data to a file, the HTML Formatter which formats data into an HTML page, and the Socket Data Sender which sends data to a socket.

3. Data Modules - These modules are used to transform the data that has been input into the graph. Examples of transform modules include the Text Parser which takes raw text and turns it into a structured format, the Pattern Filter which looks for patterns in the input data and filters out anything which does not match, and the Figure Number Generator which creates unique numbers from the input data.

4. Control Modules - These modules are used to control the flow of data through the graph. Examples of control modules include the Switch Module which sends data to different outputs based on predefined conditions, the Timer Module which can delay the execution of other modules by a specified amount of time, and the Counter Module which counts the number of times a given process has been performed.

JUG modules have proven to be an essential part of the graph-based development process, by providing a way to easily create, manage, and manipulate graph data. By connecting the right modules together, JUG can be used to build powerful data structures, create complex applications and simplify many programming tasks.
