China Merchants Chinese Expressway Fourth Road Construction Co., Ltd. (CMCEFRC) is a subsidiary of China Merchants Group and one of the leading construction companies in the Peoples Republic of China. The core business of the company is the construction of roads, expressways and highways, mainly in the Yangtze River Delta and other parts of the PRC. The company is also engaged in the production of asphalt mix and concrete batches, highway maintenance, street furniture maintenance and engineering design.
CMCEFRC has been in the road construction business for more than 50 years. In 2020, CMCEFRC delivered many iconic highway construction and renovation projects, including the renovation of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, the construction of Jiangxi-Fujian expressway, the Chengxi section of Shanghai-Ningbo expressway, the Hangzhou-Qingdao expressway, the Anhui-Fujian expressway, and the Shanghai Qiuyu Expressway, among others.
