Copper Ore
Copper ore is any mineral from which copper can be extracted in economically viable amounts. These ore bodies may be found in a variety of geological locations and come in a wide variety of compositions, depending on the particular mineral deposits of the region. Copper ore is typically classified as primary or secondary based on its location in the ore body and the percentage of copper content found in the ore.
Primary ore deposits can be found in rock formations, sedimentary or metamorphic, containing sufficient concentrations of copper for commercial mining. Such deposits are referred to as ore mining. Ore miners process these deposits, extracting the ore and sending it for further processing.
Secondary ore deposits are found in man-made excavations or in tailings from primary ore deposits. The material is then transported offsite for further processing. When all the valuable ore has been retrieved, the mine is closed, and the land can be reclaimed.

Underground miners must be trained and equipped to work in unsafe and dangerous environments, making expert workers in great demand.
Once the ore has been extracted, it is sent to be processed. Copper ore is commonly refined using one of several different processes, depending on the intended use of the processed material. For example, ore may be smelted, which involves heating the material to separate the copper from the rest of the body and send the copper to a different area for further processing.
