1 Introduction
Coating technology, as an important part of modern technology, has been playing an important role in protecting and improving the life of man-made products. High-energy hot spraying is a relatively new coating technology. It can quickly form a dense and very firmly adhered coating layer. Compared with other coating methods, it has high coating efficiency and high coating quality, and is especially suitable for coating complex parts. Therefore, hot spraying technology has been widely used in aerospace and automobile industries.
2 Working principle and methods of hot spraying technology
2.1 Working principle
The working principle of hot spraying technology is that the powder material is melted and atomized into micron particles under the action of the thermal energy of a flame. The high-speed compressed air is used to spray the molten particles at a high speed onto the surface of the object to form a dense coating layer. The coating is characterized by strong adhesion and corrosion resistance.
2.2 Methods
The methods of hot spraying technology include flame spraying and electric arc spraying. The former uses a flame as the thermal source to heat the powder material and strip off particles; The latter uses the arc generated between the two electrodes to melt the powder material and spray it onto the surface of the substrate. Flame spray is generally used for non-Ferrous metals, ceramics and plastic coatings, while electric arc spraying is used for iron-based materials.
3 Characteristics and application of hot spraying technology
3.1 Characteristics
The generic characteristics of hot spraying technology are as follows:
1) Hot spraying can quickly form a dense and firmly bonded coating layer, with high coating efficiency and high coating quality.
2) The coating layer has good wear resistance, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance.
3) The cost of hot-spraying spraying is low and the operation process is simple.
4) The hot-spraying powders can be selected according to the needs.
3.2 Application
Hot spraying technology is widely used in aerospace, automobile, shipbuilding and other industries, such as bearing surfaces of engines, sliding surfaces of brakes, antifouling or anti-corrosion coatings of hulls, protective coatings of pipelines, decorative coatings of plastic products, etc.
4 Prospects of Hot Spraying Technology
As a new coating technology with unique advantages, the application of hot spraying technology will continue to be broadened。 With the further development of coating materials, the coating technology will be more perfect and the application field will be more extensive。 It is expected that hot spraying technology will be widely used in the future of automobile, aerospace and other industries, and composite coatings with multiple functions will be realized。
5 Conclusion
Hot spraying technology is a new coating technology with high efficiency, high quality and strong adhesion. At present, it has been widely applied in various industries, such as aerospace, automobile and shipbuilding. With the continuous development of coating materials and the optimization of process parameters, the application of hot spraying technology will be further promoted.
