30CrMnSiA Alloy Structural Steel
30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel is a low-alloy medium-carbon steel with relatively high strength and medium hardenability, good machinability and cold plastic strain, good weldability and medium-intensity cold deformation. It has medium-temperature strength, high overall performance. After quenching and tempering, it has higher strength and medium toughness, which is suitable for making parts with complex shape and surface quenching and tempering.
Chemical composition:
C = 0.26-0.34%; Si = 0.15-0.35%; Mn = 0.45-0.60%; S = 0.035%; P = 0.040%; Cr = 0.90-1.20%.
Heat treatment of 30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel
The 30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel is usually tempered when it is used. First, normalize at 870℃-900℃, and then temper immediately after cooling in air. The tempering temperature should be controlled between 530℃-630℃. When tempering, the tempering temperature should not be too high, and the tempering time should be selected properly according to the requirements of the mechanical properties.
Process performance
From the perspective of process performance, the 30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel has good cold-forming performance and low plasticity. The plasticity is better when the welding is performed in the normalized state and the tempered state, which is slightly lower than the commonly used free-cutting steel.
Fatigue performance
Fatigue strength value SS2541 is not lower than 248MPa, and the relatively low-temperature fatigue strength value is 235MPa. Therefore, the fatigue performance of 30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel is good.
Tensile and yield strength
30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel has a quenching and tempering tensile strength of ≥1004MPa, a yield strength of ≥785MPa, and a corresponding elongation of ≥8%.
Application of 30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel
30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel can be used to manufacture parts such as gear shafts, fasteners and transmission parts that require a certain intensity, toughness and wear resistance, as well as parts that require high fatigue strength and have a certain manufacturing cost.
Conclusion
In conclusion, 30CrMnSiA alloy structural steel is an easy-to-machine low-alloy medium-carbon steel with excellent overall performance. It has good heat treatment performance, good cold forming and welding performance, good fatigue strength, and a certain economic value. It is suitable for producing parts that require a certain intensity, toughness and wear resistance, as well as parts that require high fatigue strength and have a certain manufacturing cost.
