In today’s competitive sports field, achieving high performance levels and maintaining a positive attitude are the key factors for any successful team. As such, the use of technology has become increasingly important in helping teams realize their potential when competing against their opponents. One example of a technology being used by teams is the introduction of a fuzzy controller. A fuzzy controller is a system that uses fuzzy logic and artificial intelligence to adjust the team’s strategies and game-plays based on their performance and the opposition’s performance. This paper is an exploration of how a fuzzy controller can be used in a basketball team to enhance their performance.

2. Background

Fuzzy controllers are a type of intelligent control system, which is a hybrid of hardware and software and combines the concepts of fuzzy logic and artificial intelligence. Fuzzy logic is a form of artificial intelligence where we try to replicate the fuzzy reasoning patterns of humans.
