Boring machine technology parameters
Diameter: This determines the largest size of the workpiece that can be accommodated in the boring machine.
stroke: This determines the largest distance the cutting tool can move in one pass.
Table size: This is the size of the flat bed on which the piece is installed and is one factor in determining the weight that the table can hold.
Spindle speed: This determines how quickly the cutting tool can move.
Feed rate: This determines the speed at which the cutting tool can move in and out of the work piece.
Spindle power: This determines how quickly the spindle can move.
Spindle torque: This is how much torque the spindle can generate in order to move the cutting tool.
Axial Travel: This determines how far the cutting tool can travel in the axial direction.
Cutting depth: This determines the maximum depth that the cutting tool can reach.
Coolant: This is the coolant that is used to cool the cutting tool and workpiece during cutting.
Center height: This determines the starting point for the boring machine and the way it is aligned in the workpiece.
Rotary table or Vise attachment: These attachments are used to rotate the workpiece in order to drill different angles.
Control system: This system is responsible for controlling all the variables mentioned above.
Feed length: This determines the length of the cutting tools feeding path.
Rapid traverse speed: This determines the speed of which the table can move without cutting.
Data input interface: This is the connection point for entering commands and data into the controller.
Spindle drive system: This system provides the power for the spindle motion.
Drive system: This system provides the power for the table motion.
Manual operation: This system allows the operator to manually move the spindle and table.
Automatic operation: This system allows the machine to be operated automatically with no manual intervention.
