In the immersion phase, the steel strip is immersed in a sauce, such as a high-grade calcium-based oil and an epoxy resin, to provide additional oxidation resistance and reduce the hardness of the steel strip. In addition, the immersion process also reduces the tendency of the steel strip to warp.
In the cold rolling stage, the steel strip is placed in rolls of different shapes, and the thickness of the steel strip is further reduced. After the cold rolling process, the shape and size of the steel strip have been basically determined. The cold-rolled steel strip produced by this process has a very high dimensional accuracy.
