Welded Structural Steel Components Construction and Acceptance Standard

In order to standardize the construction and acceptance of welded structural steel components, ensure the quality of construction and acceptance, and reduce the cost of maintenance, this standard is formulated in accordance with the relevant provisions of the current Code for Acceptance of Welding Quality of Steel Structures.

1. Definitions

1.1 Welding: The method of obtaining an integral joint by turning different metal materials or the same metal material into a pool by melting by heating or a certain pressure, and then cooling to solidify.

1.2 Welded part: Connecting the two components to form an integral part by welding.

2. Basic Requirements

2.1 The welding operators should take the low-carbon steel as the job qualification examination material and comprehensive test material for the welding of medium and high strength steel parts in a foreign language. The path is qualified before it is used in actual construction.

2.2 Adjustment and maintenance of welding equipment must be in strict accordance with the requirements of the equipments operating instructions, and the use of welding equipment must meet the requirements of the welding project and the welding materials specification levels.

2.3 The welding operator must be qualified in accordance with the regulations of the welding work personnel.

2.4 After the opening and operation of each welding operation, a visual inspection must be carried out and any defects that may affect the quality of welding must be eliminated before continuing construction.

3. Construction inspection

3.2 Cutting procedure

(1) Metal cutting operations should be performed in accordance with the relevant provisions of the HG-320-2004, Code for Metal Cutting Engineering Technology, and the corresponding cutting methods should be adopted according to the specific conditions of each part.

(2) For the curved surface cutting of high and low tension steel plates and welding parts with small curvature, no open flame cutting is allowed, and electric cutting or other appropriate cutting methods should be adopted.

3.3 Welding operation

(1) The welding operation shall be in strict accordance with the relevant provisions of the HG-300-2000, Code for Welding Engineering Technology and the welding operation should adopt the corresponding welding process according to the specific conditions.

(2) For welding of high and low tension steel plates, bevel cutting and geometrical size requirements should be stricter. The neat welding groove of V-shaped groove and the bending angle of weld should meet the requirements.

4. Acceptance criteria

4.1 The acceptance of welding should conform to the provisions of HG-208-2002.

4.2 According to the structure size and welding current, the welding joint shall meet the requirements of the relevant provisions of the HG-208-2002.

4.3 Through the visual inspection of weld surface, no obvious defects such as undercut, incomplete fusion and incomplete penetration are allowed in the fused part.

4.4 In order to ensure the quality of welding, the welding pressure, receiving inspection and impact test should be conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of HG-208-2002.

5. Calculation of welding work

5.1 After the completion of the welding, it should be calculated according to the content and quantity of the welding operation, and its accuracy should meet the requirements of the HG-208-2002.
