GB 2048–89 is a standard of electrolytic copper foil for electronic products formulated by the Ministry of Electronic Industry of the Peoples Republic of China. It sets the requirements, test methods and inspection rules of copper foil products used in the production of electronic products.
The thickness of GB 2048–89 copper foil is generally expressed by μm (micron) or mil. GB 2048–89 specifies the thickness range, width, tensile strength, elongation, bending, surface smoothness and shape of copper foil:
1. The thickness should be between 6μm to 150μm. 2. The width range should be between 6mm and 389mm. 3. The unit weight of GB 2048–89 copper foil should not be less than 700g/mm2.4. The tensile strength of copper foil should be not less than 135MPa. 5. The elongation of copper foil should be not less than 4%. 6. The folding angle of copper foil should be not less than 180°. 7. The surface roughness of GB 2048–89 copper foil should be between 0.01μm and 0.02μm. 8. The dimension and shape of the copper foil should meet the relevant requirements.
GB 2048–89 copper foil is suitable for automatic stamping, wrapping, etching and other processes. It is widely used in the production of hard disks, memory chips, integrated circuits, optical connectors, mobile phones and other electronic components.
In the production process of GB 2048–89 copper foil, quality inspection is an important part. First of all, the scale should be calibrated and inspected, and the thickness accuracy of the copper foil shall meet the requirements. Secondly, the pieces of copper foil should be inspected according to the size and shape before they are delivered or applied to production. After the production is completed, the tensile strength of the copper foil should be inspected, and the appearance quality should also be inspected.
GB 2048–89 electrolytic copper foil has many advantages, such as good electrical conductivity, strong electrochemical polishing, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, etc. It is an important electronic material and plays an important role in the production of electronic products.
