Hainan Province is one of the most beautiful provinces in China. It is located in the south of the country and is the only tropical province in China. The province covers an area of over 34,000 square kilometers, making it the smallest province in the country.

Hainan has a rich and unique history. In 111BC, it was part of the ancient Minyue Kingdom and by Han Dynasty (202BC), it belonged to the Han Dynasty. During the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), it was divided into three different parts, each with its own governor. During the early years of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), it was called Qiongzhou and was under the control of Guangdong Province.

Hainan is blessed with year-round sunshine and beaches. It is also home to some of the best natural wonders in China. The islands beaches are deemed as some of the best in the world with crystal clear blue waters and pristine white sands. Hainan is also known for its diverse and unique culture, being composed of over 26 different ethnic groups.

The economy of the province is one that is robust and continually expanding. It is one of the most prosperous provinces in China, and its GDP per capita was the highest in the country in 2018. Its major industries include sugar cane farming and sugar production, services, tourism, manufacturing, and information technology. In recent years, the tourism industry has become increasingly important to the province. In 2018 alone, Hainan welcomed over 185 million visitors, making it the most important tourism destination in China.

The local government has dedicated resources to making Hainan even more attractive to both domestic and international tourists. This includes the construction of world-class resorts, hotels, golf courses, and other recreational facilities. The government also plans to construct the worlds largest duty-free shopping mall by 2020.

Hainan is making strides to become a destination for luxury tourism, catering to those who are interested in high-end shopping, luxury villas, and first-class entertainment. The Chinese government has already approved over 850 international flights to Hainan and has relaxed visa restrictions for visitors from 59 countries.

Despite all these efforts, Hainan is still very much in its infancy and there are still many improvements that need to be made before it can call itself a truly international destination. The local government is working hard to improve the infrastructure, promote sustainable tourism, and make Hainan even more attractive to international tourists. With the right efforts and investments, that goal is sure to be achieved in the near future.
