Frederick S. Mishkin
Frederick S. Mishkin is a professor of economics at Columbia University and an expert on central banking and financial regulation. He has held numerous important positions in government, including serving on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the National Economic Council and the Treasury Department. Mishkins research focuses on banking and financial markets, international finance and macroeconomics.
Mishkins educational background includes a bachelors degree in economics from Cornell University, a masters degree in economics from Princeton University and a doctorate in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has also held academic positions at the University of Chicago, Princeton, Stanford and the European Institute of Business Administration.
Mishkins expertise in economics has been highly sought after by the government and financial industry, as he has authored or co-authored several influential books, including The Economics of Money, Banking and Financial Markets, The International Financial System and Monetary Policy and Banking, which are widely used in professional and academic circles.
