Jinlin Gold Mine
Jinlin Gold Mine is located in the southeastern part of Liaoning Province, China. It is 700 meters deep, making it the deepest gold mine in China. The mine was opened in 1977, and is one of the largest gold mines in the country.
The ore deposit of the mine is located in a metamorphic rock formation, more specifically, gneiss and mica schist. The rocks have been heavily weathered over time, leading to the formation of a secondary enrichment deposit. The main metal elements in the ore body are gold, silver, and lead, among others.
The gold from the mine is made up of several different kinds, including flake gold, crystalline gold, and a small portion of mud gold. The ore body has an average grade of about 3.4 grams per ton of ore. The ores are extensively oxidized, so extraction of gold requires careful control of the process and comprehensive understanding of the mineralogy and geology of the host-rock.
At Jinlin Gold Mine, the underground mining activities take place mostly in two types of methods: cut and fill and longwall systems. Cut and fill method is a commonly used approach to extracting ore, which is also applied at Jinlin Gold Mine. It involves making vertical or horizontal cuts, filling the voids with dead material, and then extracting the ore. Long wall systems are more advanced techniques that involve making long horizontal cuts, lining them with a protective material, then excavating the ore laterally behind the protective material.
The mine employs advanced ore processing technologies, such as gravity separation, flotation and leaching. The ore is crushed by jaw crushers and roll crushers before being crushed and screened for size. The ore is then either leached in tanks or treated by flotation depending on the gold type. Gold can be then extracted by different methods such as carbon in pulp, carbon in leach, and Merrill-Crowe.
The Jinlin Gold Mine has a positive reputation in the mining industry due to its reliability, productivity and safety. The mine produces high quality gold and is well managed, while the workers are well trained and knowledgeable. The mine is also recognized for its commitment to environmental protection and conservation measures.
To ensure the safety of the miners, the mine has implemented a number of safety measures. The mine has modern ventilation systems, advanced fire pumps, fire doors and electrical equipment. The mine also requires that all workers wear protective clothing and submit to medical examinations regularly.
The Jinlin Gold Mine has been in operation since 1977 and has produced thousands of tonnes of high-grade gold ore. Its production levels have increased over the years, as new technologies have been adopted. The mine is a major contributor to China’s economy, and the gold it produces is highly sought after in the international market.
