Baosteel Slab

Baosteel is one of the largest and most advanced steel producers in China. It manufactures slab, a flat steel product with a thickness of more than 6mm, which must pass through a series of processes such as hot rolling, pickling, cold rolling, and tempering to obtain the required specifications for use.

Hot rolling: Slab is heated by high-temperature burning or hot-wired heating. It is placed in a hot rolling mill line to be rolled into plates or strips. The rolling mill is composed of a main motor, transmission box, stand and main reducer, then heated slab is rolled into plates or strips according to the shape of rolls.

Pickling: The pickling process of Baosteel can realize the comprehensive cleaning of oxide skin and other impurities on the rolling surface, improve the surface cleanliness and formability of steel, and enhance the corrosion and fatigue resistance of steel.

Cold rolling: Cold rolled parts are rolled on a cold-rolling mill. Baosteel uses an advanced continuous annealing and skin-pass rolling process to ensure the quality of cold-rolled steel.
