Chinese Automotive Engineering Society
The Chinese Automotive Engineering Society (CAES) is a professional association that brings together Chinese researchers and engineers in the fields of engineering for the automotive industry. With its headquarters located in Beijing, the CAES works to promote research and development, foster innovation and dialogue among its members, as well as support the educational and technical development of the automotive industry in China.
The CAES was founded in 1988, and since then has grown to become the largest non-profit professional organization for automotive engineers in China. It currently has over 30,000 members including researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs and academics from China and overseas. The CAES has grown to include ten branches located in key technological locations throughout the country, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuxi, Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Chongqing.
The purpose of CAES is to bring together people interested in the various areas of automotive engineering, both within China and from other countries, to promote mutual understanding and exchanges of knowledge and technology. Its main goal is to improve the professional capabilities of its members as automotive engineers, and to develop and promote the automotive industry in China. To achieve this, it organises regular activities for its members, such as technical seminars and conferences, international exchanges, and awards ceremonies. It also provides information and publications to promote the delegation and communication of its members.
The CAES has made considerable progress in achieving its goals since its foundation. It has established an online platform to connect members and information, and is committed to providing a space for research and development, and technical exchanges. It also runs professional contests, awards and recognitions, in order to raise awareness of, and stimulate, the technological development of the automotive industry.
In addition to its role in research, development and promotion of the automotive industry in China, the CAES also works closely with international organizations such as the Society of Automotive Engineers, the World Bank, and the United Nations. It also provides exchanges for international students and professionals, in order to encourage cross-cultural learning and understanding.
