Russia Boiler Steel
Russia is a major steel producer and provides a wide range of steel grades and specifications suitable for the construction of boilers and pressure vessels, as well as other buildings and constructions that require steel with increased strength, corrosion resistance or wear resistance. Steel materials used in Russia for the production of boilers and pressure vessels are primarily 20, 15 and 12 grades of gost (ГОСТ) steel.
20 gost steel is a low carbon martensitic-austenitic stainless steel featuring less than 19.5% chromium and offers a delivery hardness ranging between 26-34 HRC. A pressure vessel made of 20 gost steel is primarily used for the production of cold industrial equipment, pipe products and products for chemical engineering.
15 gost steel is a low-alloy austenitic stainless steel containing 15-18% chromium and suitable for general-purpose steel products. Its delivery hardness varies from 12.5 to 25hrc. Boilers and pressure vessels made of 15 gost steel are highly corrosion resistance and provide extended service life.
12 gost steel is an austenitic stainless steel featuring less than 8% chromium. Boilers and pressure vessels made of 12 gost steel have a delivery hardness of 8.5-13 HRC, making them softer than the other two grades but still resistant to corrosion and wear.
