Friends
Friendship is the closest relationship between two people, it is more than just a simple relationship between two persons. A true friend isnt just an acquaintance, but somebody you can trust, depend on and confide in. The majority of us acquire a handful of friends throughout our lives, but with the coming and going of people due to work or other commitments, it can be difficult to continue and nurture the relationships that go beyond just knowing each other.
That said, there are still those rare few friends who become our second family and stay in our lives forever. These friends are few and far between, but they are the people who stick with us through thick and thin, through our lowest moments and our greatest celebrations. Such friends are few and far between, but they are worth their weight in gold.
One of the traits of a good friend is loyalty. Loyalty is being able to count on someone when you need them, knowing that they will always be there for you, no matter what. Good friends are loyal, and will always be there for you to just listen if that’s what you need, or to help out with advice. And you, in turn, should have the same loyalty to them.
Communication is also important in any friendship. Communication, both verbal and non-verbal, is needed to maintain a healthy relationship. It’s not just about having a good time with them, but also having meaningful conversations that can go a long way and help with finding solutions for problems.
Humor is also an important part of a friendship. Laughter is the key to having a good time, and a good friendship is based on being able to laugh and joke around together. Having the ability to laugh together not only brings a friendship closer but also allows the friends to take away the stress of the day and just chill.
Tolerance is also a trait that a good friend should possess. We all come from different backgrounds and have our own beliefs, and it is important to be able to tolerate each other’s differences and be accepting of each other’s views. A good friend will still care for you even if you don’t live up to their expectations all the time.
Trust is also very important, this is the foundation for any friendship. We need to be able to trust our friends to keep our secrets, be honest with us, and not judge us based on our mistakes.
While it’s impossible to articulate the specifics of true friendship, the essence lies in being there for each other, no matter what; this is the most important aspect of any friendship. A true friend will be there for you even in your darkest days, and will always be ready with a helping hand.
