Introduction
35SiMn Alloy structural steel belongs to the low alloy medium carbon steel, and is a high-quality structural steel with strength and toughness. Low alloy medium carbon steel can improve the performance and expand the application range of high performance steel, which can significantly reduce the design time and cost of alloy structural steel. There are many kinds of low alloy medium carbon steel, such as 35SiMn.
35SiMn Alloy structural steel
35SiMn alloy structural steel (GB/T 3077-1999), and the corresponding steel number is 35Mn. 35SiMn alloy steel is a kind of medium and low alloy steel with good strength and plasticity, which can be hardened after quenching and tempering and slightly lower than that of 45 steel. 35SiMn steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties and is widely used in the manufacture of parts which require comprehensive properties and good hardness.
Material properties
The mechanical properties of 35SiMn alloy structural steel have great influence on the performance of parts and components. Its properties mainly include tensile strength, compressive strength, yield strength, fatigue strength and impact toughness. In terms of tensile strength, 35SiMn alloy structural steel has the minimum tensile strength of 600MPa. Coming to the compressive strength, the min. value is 714MPa. Looking at the yield strength, it is at least 325 MPa, and the fatigue strength is below 672MPa. Concerning the impact toughness of steel, charpy impact test shows that the average value of 35SiMn alloy structural steel is not less than 27J/cm.
Manufacturing process
35SiMn alloy structural steel has very good mechanical properties, so the production process can be optimized. 35SiMn steel mainly uses the two forging processes of cold forging and hot forging. Cold forging achieves a lower production cost, so it is widely used. In addition, hot processing is carried out when the detailed requirements are relatively strict. Forging can be used to form the finished products or it can be used as the forming process of the raw materials of the finished products. It can meet the needs of the forming processes of the finished parts and components. The hot processing technology of 35SiMn alloy structural steel is not the same as that of cold processing. For hot processing, the requirements are higher, so the quality of the finished products is also better.
Conclusion
To sum up, 35SiMn alloy structural steel is a kind of low alloy medium carbon steel with good strength and plasticity. It has good comprehensive mechanical properties, and can be widely used in the manufacture of parts which require comprehensive properties and good hardness. The material properties of 35SiMn alloy steel mainly include tensile strength, compressive strength, yield strength, fatigue strength and impact toughness. In addition, 35SiMn alloy structural steel mainly uses two forging processes, hot forging and cold forging processes. Hot forging is suitable for products with higher requirements for quality and surface quality.
