Use and Maintenance of Slurry Pump
Slurry pumps are widely used in mining, thermal power plants, coal preparation plants, chemical plants and other industrial and mining enterprises. Slurry pumps are divided into single-stage, single-suction and multi-stage, multi-suction slurry pumps. The use of slurry pumps is very extensive, so how should it be used correctly and maintained? Lets take a look.
A correct use of the slurry pump should first consider the selection of the pump. Before purchasing, select a suitable pump model according to the calculation results of slurry properties, pump performance curve, system head loss and operation conditions, etc.
When using a slurry pump, pay attention to the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure. The inlet pressure should be controlled within the specified range, and the outlet pressure should not be too high each time.
In the process of using the slurry pump, pay attention to the abrasion of the impeller and the inner wall of the pump body. Generally, the slurry pump should work in the specified range, so that the pump body and its internal components can be maintained in the best condition. Especially when the viscosity of the pumped fluid is high, frequent stop and start should be avoided, because the start current of the motor is large, when the start frequency is frequent, the equipment will be damaged, so the inlet pressure should be properly stabilized when starting and stopping.
In addition, when using a slurry pump, reasonable adjustment of the operating temperature of the pump sump should be made according to the actual working situation. The operating temperature should not be too high, because when the sump temperature is too high, both the pump body and the internal components will be damaged.
In daily maintenance of the slurry pump, attention should be paid to cleaning the mud and sand accrued in the pump body and its parts. This is because the mud and sand will reduce the efficiency of the pump and even cause the pump to fail. Therefore, the slurry pump shall be disassembled regularly, and after being thoroughly cleaned, the seal and parts shall be inspected, and some worn parts shall be replaced.
In addition, the slurry pump is also subject to bearing oil changing. When the bearing oil is changed, the bearing oil shall be changed every three to six months according to the cleanliness of the oil used, the temperature of the bearing, the accuracy of the bearing, etc., and the oil change should be stopped in time during the oil change process.
In short, the use and maintenance of slurry pumps is very important, and it is necessary to pay attention to the matters mentioned in this article when using and maintaining them, so as to ensure the safe and normal use of the slurry pumps.
