This paper gives an overview of JGJ 81-2002 Construction Steel Structure Welding Technology Code. The main content of this code includes requirements of welding materials, pre-welding inspection, welding conditions, welding performance indicators, welding defects inspection and standards, qualification testing of welders, welding process monitoring and control, and other welding related auxiliary regulations. This code strictly regulates the use of welding materials, professional welding, welding inspection and acceptance standards, in order to better meet the technical requirements of the construction of steel structures.
