In this article, we will discuss the production method of large diameter round steel by continuous rolling in detail.

Continuous Rolling is the most economical production method for producing large diameter round steel with some added beneficiation. Upon arrival at the mill, the raw material is inspected to ensure it meets the quality requirements. The material is then cut into blocks which can be cut into pieces with the required length, depending on the required capacity of the mill. The material is then sent to the pre-heater and heated to the desired temperature before it is fed into the furnace. Once the material has been heated to the desired temperature, it is then fed into the rolling mill. The rolling mill is designed to hot-roll the material in various sections, including 1st roughing, 2nd roughing, sizing, cutting, and finally putting into chain-type firewood for cooling.

The 1st roughing is a crucial step for achieving the desired effects of the rolling process. In this process, the material is passed through multiple grooves at high temperature which helps to eliminate initial defects from the material, reduce rolling force and ensure consistency of the end product. Afterroughing, 2ndo sizing is the key processes of preparing the material for rolling. In this process, the thickness and width of the material is adjusted so that it can be rolled accurately. The material is then cut and shaped into the desired round steel shapes with the help of a cutting machine.

The round steel that is produced from the cutting machine is then cooled down in the chain-type firewood and sent through a cooling bed to ensure that it has neat edges. The edges of the round steel are then finely polished before the material is sent for final rolling. During the final rolling process, the material is hot-rolled one more time togive the round steel the desired uniformity and surface characteristics. After rolling, the roundsteel is straightened and cut into the required length and placed in a tensioner for final cooling. Qualified round steel is then sent to the storehouse for subsequent delivery.
