An Overview of the Life of Dell Goren

Dell Goren is an American Actor and Producer best known for his role in the television series Lost, where he played John Locke. Goren has worked steadily in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s, when he made his first acting credits in the feature films RoboCop and Twins. Born on October 20, 1990, in Denver, Colorado, Goren is the only child of actors Jack and Sheila Goren. Growing up, he was exposed to acting and the world of entertainment, which sparked his own passion for performing.

Goren graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1988, and attended the University of California, San Diego, where he studied theater. After college, he moved to Los Angeles in 1994 to pursue a career in acting. His early work in television included guest appearances in shows like Cheers, Friends, and ER. In 2000, he starred in the movie Frequency and in 2003 he gained critical acclaim for his performance in the psychological thriller The Butterfly Effect.

In 2004, Goren became a household name when he was cast as John Locke in the ABC series Lost. During his time on the show, he earned multiple awards and nominations, including “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” at the 2006 Golden Globe Awards. Following the success of Lost, he appeared in such feature films as An American Haunting, Smokin’ Aces, and Bedtime Stories. He also executive produced the Spike TV series Bar Karma and starred in the HBO series Enlightened alongside Laura Dern.

In 2014, Goren made his Broadway debut in the play House of Cards. Since then he has starred alongside David Tennant in the Netflix crime drama Control. He also acted in the psychological thriller Identity, which premiered on Hulu in 2020.

Outside of his work in acting and producing, Goren is actively involved in several charities. He is an ambassador for the Futures without Violence program, which works to end violence against women, children and families. He also works with various other organizations to help provide essential support and resources to COVID-19 aid efforts, refugee resettlement, and education initiatives.
