Measures to Prevent Damage to Die Casting Molds
As an important part of die casting production process, die cast molds can be said to be the cornerstone of the entire production environment. The shape, size, quality and efficiency of the final products are directly dependent on the die cast molds. However, in the process of die casting production, due to the high temperature and high pressure die casting, the mold is under great pressure and is prone to various types of damage. In order to reduce the damage of die cast molds, the following five measures are recommended:
1. Proper design and manufacture of die cast molds: As the basic content of die casting production, the design and manufacture of die cast molds should be done in strict accordance with the drawing requirements, and all processes and process parameters must be strictly controlled. Careful consideration should be given to the shape, size and material of the mold, as well as to the shape, size and position of the gate and the directionality of the wall, in order to avoid the damage of the mold caused by improper design and unreasonable cutting.
2.Improving mold maintenance: In order to ensure the good performance of die cast molds, proper and regular maintenance is necessary. Regularly clean and polish the surface of the die cast molds, eliminate the deposition of aluminum scraps and other debris, fill the gaps and maintain the integrity of the die cast molds is a very important maintenance work. In addition, it is necessary to drill additional cooling holes and to open mold venting holes properly.
3.Enhancing the protection of die cast molds: In the metal die casting production process, some accessories must be added to protect the die cast molds from damage. Such as the addition of copper sleeves, copper sheets, graphite plates or other thermal insulation or heat insulation materials to reduce the impact of die casting die parts on the mold, to disperse the heat and to protect the mold from damage.
4.Adopting reasonable temperature control: During the metals die casting production process, the mold surface temperature disc must be detected regularly to ensure that the temperature difference between the front and back of the gate is not too large to avoid cracking the cavity and causing permanent damage.
5. Improving the die casting quality: The mold damage often occurs during the injection of molten metal. A good injection process and a stable molten state can reduce the number of die casting die blowouts, reduce the surface quality defect and delay the die wear. Therefore, it is important to make proper adjustments to the temperature and pressure of the feeder to ensure that the molten metal is injected smoothly and evenly into the mold.
In summary, die casting molds are the key components of die casting production,so it is very important to prevent damage of the die cast molds. The above five measures are recommended to reduce the damage of die casting molds, and more attention must be paid to the physical condition and technical control of die casting molds to improve the production efficiency of die casting molds.
