GB 2585-1981 Railway 38~50 kg/m Steel Rail Technical Conditions
General
This standard specifies general steel rail technical conditions. 38~50 kg/m. The raw materials of steel rail are 65mn and 60SI2MnA. Rolling technology should be adopted in production. The bottom of the steel rail should be on a plane and the rail head should be on oblique plane.
Main Technical Conditions
1. The section size, dimension and its’ deviation should be in accordance with Table 1-3.
2. The camber of steel rail should be in accordance with Table 4- 6. The deviation of camber should be less than 0.2%.
3. The radius of curvature should conform to the requirements of Table 7 and deviation should be within 0.3%.
4. The surface of steel rail should be smooth and tidy. The roughness of surface could reach 0.2-0.5 MH.
5. Residual stress could be released by temperature, adjustment and roll grinding during the production process and should meet the requirements of Table 8-10.
6. Hardness of the steel rail should meet the requirements of Table 11-13.
7. The angle of the rail head should be larger no less than 75°.
Inspection Items
1. The section size, and its’ dimension should meet the GB2585-81 requirements.
2. The geometric size, camber and curvature should be checked.
3. The surface of the steel rail should be inspected.
4. The residual stress should be inspected.
5. Hardness should meet the requirements.
6. The angle of rail head should be inspected.
7. The chemical composition and tensile strength should be checked.
8. NDT should be inspected in order to guarantee the quality.
Conclusion
GB 2585-1981 railway 38~50 kg/m steel rail technical conditions are specified above, including the main technical conditions, inspection items and others. The raw materials, dimension and other elements of the steel rail should meet the requirements. The production process should be made strictly in accordance with this standard in order to guarantee its’ quality.
