AISI 41V30 is a Chrome-Molybdenum Steel with a combination of good harden-ability, wear resistance and allow resistance. It has a high content of Chromium and Molybdenum and is a medium carbon steel with a low content of Sulfur and Phosphorus. It has good weldability and it is generally suitable for hot working as well as cold working processes. It is most commonly used for medium to high strength industrial and automotive applications.
AISI 41V30 is characterized by high tensile strength and good ductility, which makes it an excellent choice for use in a variety of structural and mechanical applications. The combination of its strength and ductility make it suitable for high performance automotive parts and other industrial components. Its good machinability allows for easier reforming and it exhibits good fatigue resistance when heated.
AISI 41V30 can be hardened in both oil and water and offers superior wear resistance. Its good heat resistance allows it to resist the formation of heat affected zones (HAZ), particularly during hardening and other thermal treatments. Its strength and hardness also increases with an increase in the carbon and manganese levels. This makes AISI 41V30 well suited for applications where higher levels of strength are required, such as construction and aerospace parts.
AISI 41V30 also has excellent hot working characteristics and is able to tolerate high working temperatures without degradation of its mechanical properties. This allows it to be forged or extruded, as well as cast, into parts that require high strength and corrosion resistance.
AISI 41V30 is an excellent all-rounder steel, offering a combination of good hardenability, wear resistance and good corrosion resistance. It has a high content of Chromium and Molybdenum and exhibits good weldability, machinability, fatigue resistance and is suitable for both hot and cold working. It has a high strength to weight ratio and is well-suited for a variety of structural and mechanical applications, particularly those requiring good heat resistance.
