1 Introduction

The environmental air quality functional zone division principle and technical method is the important basis for the construction of environmental air protection in our nation. It is mainly used to regionalize the marine environment to determine different management schemes in order to protect the environment from pollutants. This method can be divided into two categories, the first category is the principle of functional zoning and the second category is the technical method used for the zoning process. This article intends to provide a brief introduction about the two categories.

2 Principle of Functional Zoning

The principle of functional zoning mainly delineates the functions of the air protection zone according to different objectives or protection targets. This usually includes demarcating the protections of the aerial environment, land, water surface, and the population living near these protected areas. For example, some areas can be designated as repair zones that must be protected from contamination.
