Rolling Technology Of Rebar Rolling Mill

Rebar rolling technology is a free-turbine steel rolling process line in a modern steel mill, the production of the rolling process includes at least four stages, including pre-heating, primary rolling, secondary rolling, and cooling stages. The main difference between rebar rolling and other steel rolling processes is the rolling temperature. Because the raw material of rebar is lower carbon steel with relatively low melting point and high plasticity, it requires a lower rolling temperature than other types of steel.

Therefore, rebar rolling mills generally use lower force, lower speed, and higher ratio of lubrication.The rolling process of the rebar rolling mills consists of three parts, namely, pre-rolling, mid-rolling, and continuous rolling.At the pre-rolling stage, the steel billet is heated in the heating furnace, so that its internal temperature is homogeneously increased. The required pre-rolling temperature is usually between 960℃ and 1100℃. The heated steel billet is then placed in the roughing rolling mill and it is rolled into the rebar of the specified size and shape.

At the mid-rolling stage, the rollers of the intermediate rolling mill press the rebar into a better shape, after which the rebar is cooled to room temperature.The final continuous rolling stage is to roll the cooled rebar in a continuous rolling mill. The rollers in the continuous rolling mills increase the smoothness and brightness of the rebars surface, while they also improve the tensile properties of the rebar.Due to the high speed and high intensity of the loads on the rebar rolling mill, the bearings and lubrication systems must be designed and applied properly.The optimum bearing and lubrication will ensure supple movement, reduced wear and tear, and improved service life of the rebar rolling mill.

To meet the needs of manufacturing high quality rebar, the final rolling process should be done with precision. The accuracy of the rolling process is affected by many factors, including the wear of the rolls in the rolling mills, the speed of the rolls, the lubrication of the rolls, the stability of the rolls, the temperature of the furnace, the alloying elements, and the quality and shape of the steel billet.Those are the basic components and parameters of the rebar rolling mill. With experience and progress in technology, rebar rolling mills can achieve higher performance and more production.
