Welding Technology Regulations For Steel Structures of Construction in Accordance With JGJ81-2002 (IX)
Welding is an important part of construction and in order to ensurethat all steel structures of construction adhere to the stringent standards specifiedin JGJ81-2002, welding technology regulations must be properlyfollowed. The following regulations must be followed for welding in steelsstructures of construction according to JGJ81-2002:
1. Welds must be performed on clean surfaces. All rust, paint, dirt, andother foreign materials must be removed from the area that will be welded. This includes grinding, sanding, or wire brushing the area.
2. The fit-up of pieces to be welded must be properly performed toensure that an accurate and uniform weld can be made. All gaps betweenpieces should be equal and uniform to prevent any weakening or distortionof the finished weld.
3. The correct welding process must be determined before beginningthe weld. MIG and TIG welding processes are the most commonly used insteel structures of construction.
4. The correct welding rods must be chosen based on the type ofwelding being performed as well as the type of steel that is being welded. It is important to select the proper size rod and wire for the application.
5. The proper welding techniques must be used for the type of weldbeing performed. It is important to use the techniques that are specified inthe JGJ81-2002 standard.
6. The strength of each weld joint must be tested to ensure that theweld is up to specification. A destructive or nondestructive test must beconducted in order to verify the integrity of the weld joint.
7. The weld joints must be properly inspected by a qualified welding inspector in order to verify that the weld is up to the standards set by JGJ81-2002. This includes visually inspecting the weld for cracks and other defects. The inspector should also check for any distortion, misalignment, or other deformities in the weld joint.
8. The weld joints must be properly post-weld treated as per JGJ81-2002. This includes re-tensioning, flux coating, or stabilizing the weld with a stabilizing agent.
9. The welds must be properly inspected and certified according to JGJ81-2002. The welding inspector must certify that the welds meet all of the requirements set forth in the standard. Once the inspector has completed the inspection, the welds must be properly marked in accordance with JGJ81-2002.
Following the regulations specified in JGJ81-2002 is essential forproperly welding steel structures of construction. It is important that eacharea of the weld is inspected and certified as meeting the requirements ofthe standard. It is also important that the correct welding technique andmaterials are used and that post-weld treatments are applied as necessary.By following these welding technology regulations, the safety andstructural integrity of the steel structures of construction can be assured.
