Introduction
35Cr alloy structural steel is a kind of alloy structural steel which has a great influence on the development of Chinas industry. Its properties and uses are very important for the development of Chinas industry. This article introduces the chemical composition, property and application of 35Cr alloy structural steel.
Chemical Composition
The chemical composition of 35Cr alloy structural steel is shown in Table 1. It is mainly composed of Cr, Si, Mn, Mo, V, Ni, Fe and other elements. The content of carbon is 0.32-0.39%. The content of hardening element of chromium is more than 0.9%. The content of molybdenum and vanadium is 0.15-0.30% and 0.15-0.25%, respectively. Besides, the nickel content can reach 0.20-0.40%.
Table 1: Chemical composition of 35Cr alloy structural steel (%)

Properties
35Cr alloy structural steel has good heat treatment, better temperature quenching, good mechanical properties and high hardenability. It is suitable for quenching and regining in different strength levels, and it also has good toughness and plasticity in cold and medium temperature range. The cold deformation of 35Cr alloy structural steel is also very good.
The tensile strength of component parts made from 35Cr alloy structural steel can reach 835-894 MPa and yield strength can reach 1000MPa.
Application
The application of 35Cr alloy structural steel is very wide. It is mainly used for making important parts which need high strength, such as aircraft joint parts, turbine rotor and pressure vessel.
35Cr alloy structural steel has broad application prospect and is used in making important parts of some aircrafts, locomotives, ships and automobile turbines. Because 35Cr alloy structural steel has high strength and plasticity, it is also very popular in making shaft of some automobile engines.
Conclusion
In summary, 35Cr alloy structural steel is a kind of alloy structural steel which has a great influence on the development of Chinas industry. It has good mechanical properties and high hardenability. Therefore, it is widely used for making important parts which may need high strength, such as aircraft joint parts, turbine rotor and pressure vessel.
