S22608 0Cr26NiMo2 austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel is a highly corrosion resistant all around superior austenitic stainless steel, integrating both ferrite and austenite phases in the microstructure and providing outstanding corrosion resistance compared to that of common austenitic stainless steels.

The arrival of S22608 0Cr26NiMo2 austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel brings tremendous advantages to all users due to higher yield strength and better stress corrosion cracking resistance than those of common austenitic stainless steel. At the same time, S22608 0Cr26NiMo2 has improved hardness, abrasion resistance, fatigue strength and impact toughness.

S22608 0Cr26NiMo2 austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel has excellent formability and weldability. It has suitable mechanical properties in both the annealed and solution treated conditions. Solution-Annealed 0Cr26NiMo2 exhibits excellent corrosion resistance which enhances its strengths as a corrosion-resistant material and cross-sectional properties over those of traditional austenitic stainless steels.

S22608 0Cr26NiMo2 austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel is widely used in industries where high corrosion-resistance and strength are needed and mechanical properties matter such as those found in the oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical and subsea engineering. It is also suitable for military applications, pressurized vessels and high temperature/high pressure applications.

The potential benefits of S22608 0Cr26NiMo2 austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel compared to standard austenitic stainless steels include: higher strength and mechanical properties, a higher elongation than SS 304L, better corrosion resistance to localized corrosive conditions and increased resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking in seawater.

S22608 0Cr26NiMo2 austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel can be fabricated using the same methods and tools as are applicable for austenitic stainless steel. Before fabrication is done, it is highly recommended that the stainless steel welding and fabrication is pretested for compatibility and to ensure optimal life cycles and costs.

S22608 0Cr26NiMo2 austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel provides improved ductility, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance when compared to standard austenitic stainless steels, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of processing and engineering applications. It is a cost effective material suitable for challenging process conditions, where the combination of strength and corrosion resistance is needed.

0Cr26NiMo2 is a stainless steel with austenite-ferrite type dual-phase structure. It is a typical stainless steel with good workability, tough texture, good corrosion resistance and high temperature oxidation resistance.

Chemical Composition

0Cr26NiMo2 is mainly composed of C, Cr, Ni and Mo components. The chemical composition of 0Cr26NiMo2 is as follows:

Carbon (C): 0.10-0.15

Chromium (Cr): 22-24

Nickel (Ni): 12-15

Molybdenum (Mo): 2.0-2.5

Iron (Fe): balance

Physical properties

0Cr26NiMo2 is a stainless steel with austenite-ferrite type dual-phase structure. The physical properties of 0Cr26NiMo2 are as follows:

Density: 7.8 g / cm3

Tensile strength: 500-640MPa

Elongation: 40%

Hardness: ≤250HBW

Thermal processing

0Cr26NiMo2 can be thermally processed at temperatures between 1500 ° C and 1700 ° C. Rapid cooling from high temperature can fully transform austenite into ferrite, thus forming a dual-phase structure which enhances workability and toughness.

Applications

Owing to its balanced properties and good workability, 0Cr26NiMo2 is widely used in nuclear power plants, steam turbine blades, heat exchangers and other items requiring a higher level of corrosion and oxidation resistance.
