Introduction of 20CrHA Alloy Steel

20CrHA, also known as 20CrMoH, is an alloy steel for steam turbine rotor parts. It belongs to medium carbon and low alloy steel, with good process performance and low-temperature impact toughness. It is a important material for steam turbine manufacturers. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the performance and application of 20CrHA alloy steel.

Characteristics of 20CrHA Alloy Steel

20CrHA alloy steel has good toughness and is used in the manufacture of low and medium temperature steam turbine rotor parts. Its tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, hardenability and impact toughness meet the technical requirements of national steam turbine rotor and blade parts manufacturing.

20CrHA alloy steel has good thermal fatigue properties and impact toughness. Its thermal cycle life meets the requirements of medium temperature rotor blades. Its optimal preheating temperature for low and medium temperature parts is 400 ℃, and its medium and high temperature parts is 500- 600℃.

20CrHA alloy steel has small brittleness after quenching, good temper softening resistance, small deformation and good cohesion during heat treatment. After tempering, its fatigue strength and yield strength have little effect inside the tempering temperature range, so its performance is stable.

Processing of 20CrHA Alloy Steel

Forging temperature of 20CrHA alloy steel is 1200-950℃. It is necessary to cool it in sand or open air with slope cooling. The annealing temperature of 20CrHA alloy steel is 800-870℃, and the average cooling speed is not more than 30℃ per hour.

Quenching of 20CrHA alloy steel is carried out at 910-940℃. During the quenching process, the temperature should be determined by the oil temperature, and the dwell time should be controlled between 2~3min. The medium temperature parts are quenched with oil, while the high temperature parts are quenching with water.

Tempering temperature of 20CrHA alloy steel is 500-600 ℃.The tempering temperature of medium temperature part is (260-360)℃, and its quenching process time is 6~8min. The tempering temperature of low and medium temperature parts is (420-520)℃, and its quenching process time is 2~3min.

Application of 20CrHA Alloy Steel

20CrHA alloy steel is mainly used in low and medium temperature steam turbine rotor and blade parts. Low-temperature parts is mainly used in rotors of nuclear power generators, thermal power generators and turbogenerators, which have high working loads and complicated shapes. The medium-temperature part is mainly used in rotors of turbogenerators and turbines of reheat units, which have high working loads and complex shapes.

Conclusion

20CrHA alloy steel is an important material for steam turbine manufacturers. It has good toughness and is used in the manufacture of low and medium temperature steam turbine rotor parts. It has good thermal fatigue properties and impact toughness. Its forging temperature is 1200-950℃ and its annealing temperature is 800-870℃.It is mainly used in low and medium temperature steam turbine rotor and blade parts.

20CrHA structure steel is a high-alloy martensitic stainless steel developed with the purpose of producing a steel that boasts superior toughness and decades of reliable performance even under extreme stress. Unlike other high-alloy steels, 20CrHA features a unique microstructure that gives it superior properties over standard martensitic stainless steel. This includes superior corrosion resistance and indentation hardness when compared to other common grades of steel.

Aside from its excellent corrosion resistance, 20CrHA is widely known for its superior toughness and shock resistance. This comes from its highly refined microstructure, which allows for improved yield strength and fatigue strength when compared to other steels of similar composition. In addition, it is a highly weldable grade of steel, allowing for far easier fabrication processes. This combination of superior weldability and excellent toughness makes the 20CrHA a great choice in applications that require high strength and superior toughness.

Despite its superior properties, 20CrHA steel remains largely used in industrial and mechanical applications. Its high wear resistance, excellent toughness, and resistance to corrosion makes the 20CrHA the perfect material choice for products and components that are exposed to harsh operating environments. Its weldability also makes it a great choice in applications where strength and wear resistance must be maintained even after multiple welding cycles.

Due to its excellent properties, 20CrHA structure steel is one of the most sought after materials in industrial and mechanical applications. From precise machinery components to structures used in demanding environments, the 20CrHA is a popular choice due to its combination of superior strength, corrosion resistance, and excellent weldability. With its decades of reliable performance and superior strength, the 20CrHA is sure to be a top choice of designers and engineers for years to come.
