High Temperature Alloy Forging of Round Pancake (GB/T14997-1994)
High temperature alloy forging of round pancake refers to the forging of round steel in high temperature alloy forging. This method can be used both in the production process of precision parts, and in the production process of non-precision parts.
High temperature alloy forging technology is part of the advanced forging technology for high temperature alloy materials, and is a forging technology for high temperature alloy which is based on the principle of cold and hot forging, with the characteristics of easy control of heat input and low cost. This technology can achieve the same result with less high temperature alloy, which can reduce the cost.
High temperature alloy forging of round pancake was applied in China since 1980s and formulated in GB/T14997-1994 as the national technical standard. The main process of this technology is as follow.
First, the high temperature alloy material is heated to the forging temperature, and then put into the forging machine. After the blank is heated to the required temperature in the forging machine, the blank is then put into the forging machine. During the forging process, the blank is continuously forced to press against the force of the forging machine, and during this process, the shape and size of the blank is accordingly changed according to the design requirements. Finally, the blank is cooled down to room temperature, and the forging pancake is produced.
This technology has the advantages of controlling the heat supply, improving the strength of the forged parts, reducing metal waste, and applying to all kinds of high temperature alloy materials with different strength levels. However, there are several problems that need to be paid attention to. The first is that the correctness and stability of the parameters of the forging machine affect the quality and yield of the forged products. The second is that poor homogenization of the material and improper temperature selection can cause a variety of cracks and defects in the blanks. And finally, inappropriate selection of dies, improper feeding, and poor lubrication can also affect the consistency and quality of the forging products.
In order to produce high quality forged round pancakes, we should strictly follow the national technical standard GB/T14997-1994 and pay attention to selecting the correct materials, making correct parameter settings, selecting appropriate dies and filling the correct mold, in order to ensure the stability and correctness of the process parameters, reduce the amount of material waste and improve the quality of products.
