The structure of stainless steel varieties is becoming more and more reasonable
Stainless steel is a steel alloy, with a minimum of 10.5% chromium content by mass, and is generally much more resistant to corrosion than ordinary steel. It is often called “corrosion resistant steel” because it resists corrosion, or rusting. Because stainless steel has a higher chromium content than ordinary steel, it has superior qualities in terms of strength, hardness, formability and weldability.
In recent years, with the rapid development of Chinas stainless steel industry and the continuous improvement of product quality, the structure of stainless steel varieties is becoming more and more reasonable. On the one hand, the number of varieties of stainless steel has increased rapidly, reaching hundreds of varieties; on the other hand, stainless steel products with various grades, specifications and models have appeared.
At present, China’s stainless steel varieties mainly include austenitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, precipitation hardening stainless steel and dual phase stainless steel. The austenitic stainless steel can be divided into the two most widely used types: 304 and 316. The 316 grade has better corrosion resistance than 304 grade and is resistant to corrosion in harsh environments, especially in more corrosive environments such as sea water and salt spray. It is often used in the manufacture of offshore platforms and chemical equipment, food and medical industry. The ferritic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, precipitation hardening stainless steel and dual phase stainless steel are mainly used in the fields of pressure vessels, high temperature and heat exchange equipment, evaporators and heat exchange towers.
In recent years, with the rapid development of Chinas stainless steel industry and continuous improvement of product quality, the variety of international stainless steel products is continually increasing. Moreover, the production and sales of stainless steel products in various grades and specifications have increased significantly, and the structure of stainless steel varieties is becoming more and more reasonable.
Currently, the production of stainless steel varieties in China is moving towards the trend of diversifying grades, diversifying specifications and diversifying models. For example, the production of ultra-low carbon stainless steel varieties is increasing year by year, such as ultra-low carbon 304 and ultra-low nitrogen 316L stainless steel. On the one hand, this is to meet the requirements of some more environmentally friendly products, and on the other hand, this is also a major opportunity for Chinas stainless steel industry to further enhance its core competitiveness and marketability.
In addition, the continuous optimization of product composition and product structure meets the increasing diverse requirements of downstream users. For example, some stainless steel products are required to have a variety of stainless steel grades, such as a combination of 316L and 301L. In addition, some properties of existing stainless steel varieties such as strength, hardenability and elongation, etc., can also be customized according to the specific requirements of downstream users.
In summary, the structure of stainless steel varieties is becoming more and more reasonable in recent years. With the continuous optimization of product composition and product structure, the product varieties have become more complete, and the differentiation and customization of stainless steel products have been significantly improved. This will definitely have a positive effect on the sustainable development of China’s stainless steel industry.
