一段stainless steel grade comparison chart Domestic stainless steel standard steel number comparison chart
In the steel industry, different grades of stainless steel are used according to their properties and applications. This comparison chart below presents a summary of each standard and non-standard grade of stainless steel.
(1) Japanese Industrial Standard:
This standard includes austenitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel and duplex stainless steel, as well as precipitation hardening stainless steel and other special alloys. Each grade is represented in terms of content of chemical elements.
(2) American Iron and Steel Institute:
AISI grade is ASTM grade. Its grades are represented by four digital numbers, with 304 as the highest. The first two digital numbers indicate the kind of steel and the other two indicate its properties.
(3) German standard:
The German standard uses two capital letters and four numbers to represent the grade of stainless steel. For example, 1.4541 is the German standard grade of austenitic stainless steel.
(4) Chinese standard:
China has its own stainless steel grades. The grading is different from internationally recognized standards. The first letter of the grade represents the kind of steel and the other represents the properties of the steel.
(5) Austrian standard:
Austrian standard stainless steel grades are represented by one capital letter and five numbers, such as X3CrNiMo13-4. The first letter indicates the kind of steel, the middle part represents the chemical elements and the last part represents the mechanical properties.
(6) International quality standards:
International quality standards are represented by three numbers and two capital letters, such as A554. This kind of steel grade is used for manufactured products with same characteristics.
Each standard or non-standard stainless steel grade has its own characteristics and applications. Therefore, it is necessary to select the proper stainless steel grade according to the application. The comparison table of stainless steel grades below can help you to make the best selection and comparison.
