Abstract
The selection and installation of CNC lathe is an essential step for the entire machining process. Proper selection and installation of CNC lathe, not only can reduce material loss and equipment failure, but also can greatly improve the production efficiency and accuracy. In order to select a suitable CNC lathe, it is necessary to measure the size, accuracy, strength and other parameters of the workpiece, and then select the appropriate CNC lathe specifications according to the performance requirements of the CNC lathe. When installing CNC lathe, attention should be paid to the levelling, checking and installation of the main machine and its accessories, in order to guarantee its normal operation and accuracy.

1. Introduction
At present, CNC lathe is widely used in modern manufacturing industry. It has the characteristics of precision, high efficiency and high flexibility. As a key operation link in the machining process, the reasonable selection and perfect installation of CNC lathe will directly affect the production quality, efficiency and economic benefits of the product. In this paper, the selection and installation of CNC lathe is discussed.
2. Selection of CNC Lathe
CNC lathe is an important tool for machining parts. Selection of CNC lathe should consider the parameters of the machined parts (e.g. size, accuracy and strength)and characteristics of the CNC lathe (e.g. type, price, performance index and other parameters).
As for the size of the workpiece, different CNC lathe have different maximum lengths and diaphragm diameters. Generally, the length of workpiece is determined by the stroke of X axis and the size of U axis. The parting diameter of the workpiece is mainly determined by the maximum clamping diameter of the chuck. It is necessary to select the appropriate CNC lathe specifications according to the processing parameters of the workpiece.
As to the accuracy of the workpiece, CNC lathe are mainly evaluated with the help of three parameters: positioning accuracy, repeatability and digital control resolution. The general accuracy of the workpiece should be determined according to the precision requirements of the workpiece. The higher the accuracy requirement, the higher the accuracy of the lathe should be.
In terms of the strength of the workpiece, CNC lathe mainly depends on the size of the spindle —— spindle power. According to the weight of the workpiece and the depth of cut of lathe, the size of spindle power should be selected.
After deciding the size, accuracy and strength parameters of the workpiece, it is necessary to select the appropriate CNC lathe specification accordingly. CNC lathe are classified into ordinary, linear, vertical and horizontal type, according to the configuration form. The user should select the appropriate form according to the machining complexity of the workpiece. On the market, the prices of CNC lathe also affect the selection of CNC lathe, so users should also pay attention to the prices of CNC lathe.
3. Installation of CNC Lathe
CNC lathe is a precision machining equipment and its installation requirements are also very high. During installation, it is necessary to strictly observe and check according to the provisions of the instructions, in order to guarantee its normal operation and machining accuracy.
(1) Leveling. This is the most important step in the installation of CNC lathe. The installation process should be strictly based on the instruction manual, so that the center height and swing arm center position can be installed correctly. The error of the center height and swing arm center position should not exceed the specified range;
(2) Inspection. After the completion of the installation, perform a comprehensive inspection of the machine. Check the existence and position of the parts, the accuracy of the screw, the tightness of the accessories, the running direction, the lubrication and the connection of the power supply to confirm whether the installation is in compliance with the requirements;
(3) Installation of accessories. During this process, pay attention to the correctness of the position and the installation methods of the accessories. Install and fix the parts firmly. It is necessary to confirm that all accessories have been correctly and securely installed before commissioning;
(4) Debugging and Trial Run. After the installation and installation of the accessories, debugging and trial run should be carried out. Run the power system, work system, digital control system and display system in accordance with the requirements, and debug the digital control parameters until their parameters are correct.
4. Conclusion
The selection and installation of CNC lathe are very important prerequisites for the quality and efficiency of machining. If a suitable CNC lathe can be selected according to the processing parameters of the workpiece, and then installed according to the instruction manual, it can not only reduce the material loss and equipment hazardous failure resulting from improper selection, but also can greatly improve the accuracy and production efficiency.
